Compared to other teak wood, the teakwood for bathroom application is protected by water-based varnishes so that it will stay beautiful & functional for years, without rotting and splitting. However, the more you use the furniture you will see a change in color but it does not indicate a change in durability. Teak wood is waterproof and weather resistant, but may begin to darken to a deep brown color as time goes on. You only have to clean regularly to prevent soap residue buildup.

Make sure the furniture dries thoroughly after each use, especially in areas with little air circulation.
Rinse the furniture well with fresh water after each use to remove soap residue, body oils, and chlorine.
Let it air dry after each use.
Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents and scratching with sharp objects. Aggressive cleaning should not be necessary.
Use fresh water only; spray the frames down thoroughly at a high hose pressure and clean regularly to prevent soap residue buildup. The frequency of your routine will likely depend on the desired outcome.
