Compared to other teak wood, the teakwood for bathroom application is protected by water-based varnishes so that it will stay beautiful & functional for years, without rotting and splitting. However, the more you use the furniture you will see a change in color but it does not indicate a change in durability. Teak wood is waterproof and weather resistant, but may begin to darken to a deep brown color as time goes on. You only have to clean regularly to prevent soap residue buildup.
  • Make sure the furniture dries thoroughly after each use, especially in areas with little air circulation.
  • Rinse the furniture well with fresh water after each use to remove soap residue, body oils, and chlorine.
  • Let it air dry after each use.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents and scratching with sharp objects. Aggressive cleaning should not be necessary.
  • Use fresh water only; spray the frames down thoroughly at a high hose pressure and clean regularly to prevent soap residue buildup. The frequency of your routine will likely depend on the desired outcome.
